The Maple Syrup Diet is also known as the Lemonade Diet and the Lemon Detox. Made popular by Beyonce Knowles, who used this diet plan to successfully slim-down for a movie role, this diet plan claims many benefits, including weight loss, detoxification and improved skin.

The drink used in the Maple Syrup Diet is made up of 2 tablespoons of Madal Bal Natural Tree Syrup, 2 tablespoons of fresh lemon juice, a pinch of cayenne pepper, and a pint of water. Dieters can drink as much as they like, but must drink at least 6 to 9 glasses each day. The Maple Syrup Diet requires that followers drink only the maple syrup concoction for 10 days, although beginners may want to start with 5 days, as this plan can be very challenging on both the mind and the body.

The Maple Syrup Diet is extremely low in calories, so dieters on this diet plan will lose a lot of weight very quickly, but should be careful when transitioning back to solid foods. The diet plan will cleanse the body, and followers should use the ten day diet period to mentally prepare for a healthier lifestyle and eating habits post Maple Syrup Diet. Since the Maple Syrup plan is so different from a more regular eating plan, participants should consult with their physicians before beginning the cleanse.
