The Water Diet - Bottom's Up!
Who would think that a basic necessity could actually help you lose weight? The Water Diet is a smart supplement to traditional diets. And, there are no eating restrictions when using this diet plan!
Your doctor always tells you to drink 8 glasses of water a day. It's easy to get confused as to how much is in a "glass," but as a basic rule of thumb on the Water Diet, 8 fluid ounces of water are in one glass. This translates to 64 ounces, two quarts, or one half gallon each day.
The Water Diet does not change your current diet, but rather enhances it. Simply implement this diet throughout the day as you see best fit, and if purchasing bottled water, make sure that there is no flavoring, additives or coloring. The water can be consumed at a cool temperature, or if you'd like to warm yourself up, feel free to drink warmed or steamed water.
It's important to remember that every day our body forfeits almost 6-12 cups of water, which must be replaced. Although the Water Diet advocates for drinking 64 oz. of water each day, you can also supplement your intake by eating foods that contain lots of water. Here are some interesting facts about the diet:
- Most fruits are largely composed of water.
- Liquids like milk and fruit juices contain plenty of water.
- Vegetables are rich in water.
- A hamburger is 50 percent water.
- Swiss cheese is 38 percent water.
